Mac OS X: put it in ~/Library/Preferences/aacs/ (create it if it does not exist)

When I borrow some more Blu-rays from the library again I'll definitely try is what's posted at VLC's site: I haven't been monitoring my comment after it seemed to lose interest. If this is common knowledge I'm sorry for being redundant but maybe it will help someone save a little time in the for the late reply.

I'm posting this because I found nothing on this forum to help me set up my Blu-ray player. If anybody knows which library or whatever VLC is looking for I'd appreciate it. I have Java installed but apparently not the right pieces because I still can't access the menus on the Blu-ray discs. The only problem now is that VLC is telling me that in order to run the menus it needs Java. Here's the link: The instructions say to put it in ~/.config/aacs/ I did and it worked. They have the codec and you can download it there. Besides, I don't really want to render down an entire Blu-ray just to play it.Ī quick Google search for 'AACS codec' led me to VLC's site. I tried the MakeMKV route but that only worked once for some reason. When I tried to play them though VLC informed me that I needed the AACS codec. I borrowed a few Blu-ray movies from my local library. I recently decided to try my Blu-ray player since I have a nice new 2K 27' IPS monitor.
